Summary
The Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship (NPGS) is a scholarship scheme designed to encourage outstanding graduates or final-year students to take their first step towards a leading research career by studying for a doctoral degree programme (PhD) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Up to 30 NPGS awards will be made available in each Academic Year. Successful candidates will be known as Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholars. Level: doctoral degree programme (PhD). Study in: Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Quota: 30. Application Deadline: 15 Nov 2011 (open in 1 Oct 2011). The Equity Scholarships Scheme helps low-income students with the costs of students life. The scheme targets students who face significant financial barriers to, and helps them to succeed by allowing them to devote more time and attention to their studies.
The scheme is funded through the Learning Potential Fund, as well as funds from QUT and the Commonwealth Government.
The Learning Potential Fund is supported by donations from graduates, staff, and friends of the university, and was established to assist low-income students.
What you receive
You’ll receive $1000 for one year, to assist you with living and study expenses.
You are guaranteed to receive this bursary if: you have been admitted through the Q-Step Scheme, you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student and have applied for the QUT Equity Scholarships Scheme.

PhD Scholarship Opportunities at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
Scholarships are available to those interested in pursuing a PhD in the areas of mobile information access and sharing. Positions are open till filled.
A good background in computer science, information technology or information science is necessary, as is a willingness to work hard. Knowledge of information retrieval or Web mining techniques is considered a plus.
TOEFL scores are required for students whose first language is not English. GRE scores are also required for graduates who did not obtain their degrees from a Singapore university.
