Defending champion Jorge Lorenzo won the San Marino MotoGP Italy on Yamaha to close the gap with the current rider standings leader Casey Stoner, who spur Honda.

Lorenzo now mempertipis away with championship leader Stoner to 35 points.
Lorenzo is very happy to be back on the podium top spot. "I really need this win because the last two races is a nightmare, so it could return with a motor that really is extraordinary good," said Lorenzo. Lorenzo beat Stoner's almost four seconds while the remaining nine-lap race, while Pedrosa was third place. Then the rider standings leader Pedrosa passed it during the race five laps remaining, while behind him, Marco Simoncelli, Ben Spies, and Andrea Dovizioso, was involved in a tight battle for fourth place.
Stoner continues to lose time from Lorenzo, and left seven seconds during the race four laps remaining, only to save his position and prevent the Spaniard seized more points from him.
Simoncelli involved thrilling duel with fellow countryman Dovizioso, who then passed him during the rest of the rounds again.
