President of the United States (U.S.), Barack Obama gave responses related to criticism of allied military operations in Libya. Obama claimed the operation was successfully protect innocent citizens who threatened 'bloodshed' by Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Amid mounting pressure against this operation, Obama gave a detailed explanation of what happened so far. But he insisted that the U.S. national interest in this operation for the sake of upholding the UN mandate.
"Make no mistake, because we act quickly, then the humanitarian disaster has been avoided and lives-the lives of innocent civilians, men, women and children, have been rescued,"Obama said in his statement on the radio and online media, as reported by AFP, Saturday (03/26/2011).
